Jewelled Armour

This costume piece is a contrast in textiles between delicate and harsh materials. Researching the restriction of women’s undergarments throughout the centuries assisted me in creating a connection between these feminine garments and masculine armour. Using dangerous materials such as the chainsaw blades in the headpieces against a soft lace and the peals and gems embellished on the metal bra creates a representation of strength in women throughout history and in the future.
